Wood is a living material. Differences in air humidity will cause it to swell or shrink. Wood should be subjected neither to extremely moist nor extremely dry air. A standard air humidity of 45 to 70% is ideal for the processed wood. The surfaces are protected by special lacquers. This makes the doors almost insensitive to soiling.
To clean the doors, simply wipe down using a moist, warm leather cloth. Ensure that the doors do not get too wet. You will not need a cleaning agent. For stubborn soiling add a little spirit to the water. Subsequently, dry the doors using a soft cloth.
Always wipe in the direction of the wood grain to ensure that any possible soiling is removed from the pores.
Never use furniture polish or cleaners containing ammonia nor nitrocellulose or plastic dilutions (or nitrocellulose based cleaning agents), because they damage the lacquer or wood surface. This applies to all lacquered surfaces. |
